Apprenticeship programme creates 500 jobs at The Hut


An apprenticeship programme at multi-brand online retailer The Hut
Group has created jobs and opportunities for more than 500 young
people across the UK since its launch in 2010.

The Hut Group, which operates websites including Zavvi.com,
MyProtein.com and lookfantastic.com, has seen its apprenticeship
programme provides youngsters with work in customer service,
online marketing, buying, trading and other roles across the
online retail market. The programme is a welcome positive step to
combat unemployment, which according to the Office for National
Statistics saw 1.02 million 16 to 24-year-olds jobless in the UK
late last year.

Ashley Ramrachia, The Hut group’s head of talent, said in a
statement, “The apprenticeship programme has been a
tremendous success for both apprentices and The Hut Group alike,
we are proud of our investment in the local, talented workforce
and are committed to further expansion, creating many more
exciting career opportunities in operations across the
group”.

In 2011, The Hut Group saw 134 NVQ apprentices trained in
operations across the company.
