arvato further expands in Russia

arvato SCM Solutions is strengthening its presence in the Russian market. In Yaroslavl, approximately 250 km northeast of Moscow, a new logistics facility was recently built specifically for international brands within the fashion and beauty industries. The new distribution centre, designed as a multi-user system, is heavily focused on companies who intend to grow their retail, eCommerce or omnichannel business in Russia.

“The new logistics building is part of our overall strategy in Russia, which is rooted in the strong growth of existing and potential new customers in this area,” Michael Pötschke, CEO of arvato Russia, emphasises the decision for the investment that fit seamlessly into arvato’s ambitious strategy for Russia.

arvato has been active in Russia for 17 years and already operates three distribution centers in Yaroslavl. The highly accessible logistics location features ideal supply chain conditions, especially for Moscow, where short delivery times are particularly important. Overall, in Yaroslavl approximately 80 million B2C items are stored on 70,000 sqm of floor space. Up to 65,000 orders can be processed daily. Michael Pötschke explains, “The new facilities have been built to the most modern industry standards and are designed to provide our customers with flexible and adaptable solutions of the highest quality.” Consequently, these new facilities also create ideal conditions for the supply chain management and e-commerce sector, the development of which is especially volatile in Russia, and is managed by arvato SCM Solutions.
