ASOS ships 49.6 million orders in record year

Bullish ASOS CEO Nick Beighton has confirmed that sales for the year to 31 August reached £1.9 billion. International growth was particularly strong, accounting for 63 per cent of total retail sales as compared with 57 per cent last year. The business had shipped 49.6 million orders which is a 30 per cent increase on last year.

Nick said “It has been a great year for ASOS with continued growth in sales and profits. Our international performance was excellent, as we reinvested FX tailwinds and benefited from our continually improving customer proposition. In a competitive UK market, we achieved strong full price performance whilst further increasing market share.”

The business had completed the roll-out of a new digital platform and greatly improved the checkout function. It had also increased capacity at its primary UK warehouse, made progress with its Eurohub 2 fulfilment centre, as well as exchanged contracts on the lease for a new US fulfilment centre which should be open for business by this time next year.
