CatEx DCA confirms new board line-up


CatEx Direct Commerce Association has released the results of its
board elections. With 10 vacancies on the board and more than 650
votes cast, this year’s elections were the most hotly contested
to date.

Katy Ingram, commercial director at apparel cataloguer
Gray & Osbourn; Karine Kong, managing director
of homewares brand Bodie and Fou: John Norton,
head of sales at Macmillan Cancer Support; Alex
Pratt, founder of reading-lights specialist Serious
Readers
and Charles Tyrwhitt‘s director
of customer retention Chris Terelak have all been elected to the
advisory board of the not-for-profit trade body.

They join Mark Wilby, operations director at gifts catalogue
Nauticalia, who has been reelected for a further
two years, alongside Natasha Cubitt, managing director of gifts
marketer The Handpicked Collection and David
Lockwood, head of marketing analytics at Direct
Wines
, who commence the second year of their term.

Founded in 2004, CatEx DCA supports businesses in all areas of
the catalogue, online and multichannel retail community. The
organisation exists primarily to facilitate vital networking and
knowledge sharing among its members. As well as representatives
from client-side companies, the CatEx DCA board also comprises
Associate Members (suppliers). The voting saw Tony Adams of
design agency TA Design and Royal
Mail
‘s Wayne Parrot reelected to serve another term,
while Lara Bonney of Abacus and direct
commerce consultant
Andrew Wilson join the board for the
first time.

The changes will see the departure of N Brown‘s
Dara O’Malley (currently serving as chairman),
Aspace‘s Paul Cunningham (deputy chairman), Tim
Curtis of Ideal Shopping Direct, John Ellis of
Sunline Direct Mail, Matthew Pepper of
Sub2 Technologies, Graham Winn
of Flowercard and International Dance
Supplies
‘ Anne Walker, who stand down at the end of
their terms.
A new chairman and deputy chair will be announced at a later
date. Nigel Swabey of Scotts & Co retains his position as
president.

The new board members will officially take up their roles in
November 2012.
