CatEx DCA members looking ahead to “Mad Monday”

Click & Collect will add extra appeal to online shopping
this Christmas according to Verdict which expects that Monday 23rd
December will be the busiest day for online deliveries and collections. Not
surprisingly greater consumer confidence and a reviving housing market are set
to encourage greater spending. “On top of this,” Maureen Hinton, research
director at Verdict explained, “during the recession, there has been a baby boom
which means one of the prime targets for Christmas spending, kids, is growing.”

Most members are pretty bullish about the imminent season but
are also far from complacent with many promoting flash sales online, free
delivery, and significant discounts ahead of the rush. Many are also gearing up
for sales over the Christmas period which, this year, is expected to be very
busy.

We wish all of member companies a truly successful Christmas
trading season and a very happy and prosperous 2014.
