Clipper founder in bid to assume control

Reports are that logistics specialist Clipper’s founder & executive chairman Steve Parkin is involved in the bid made by Sun European Partners to take the business private. Whilst neither party is currently commenting, it is understood that Clipper is now considered to be in an offer period and that its board has appointed Numis Securities as its financial advisor.  This means that Sun European Partners has until 5pm on 18th December to announce a firm intention to make an offer,  or to confirm it will not be making an offer.

Steve Parkin floated Clipper on the London stock market five years ago and retains ownership of more than a quarter of its shares.
