DHL Agency staff vote to strike

Agency staff employed at a DHL warehouse in Shirley,  which supports Arcadia,  have voted to strike on Cyber Monday as a protest against being paid minimum wage rather than the Living Wage Foundation’s suggested real living wage. Around 75 staff represented by GMB are understood to be taking the action which is fuelled by anger over Sir Philip Green’s wealth. The union has also stated that there will be further action during the peak season unless an acceptable settlement is reached.

GMB organiser David Warwick said, ” It’s a disgrace that Sir Philip Green who holds the purse strings on this DHL contract and has enriched himself on the backs  of these loyal workers is refusing to put a sensible offer on the table.”
