Dr Martens’ boosts profits

Dr Martens has posted a 20 per cent increase in its sales for the year to March citing stronger demand from Europe and the Middle East. Sales reached a total of £348.6 million for the period with earnings up by 33 per cent to £50 million. The business still produces some of its products in the UK and now achieves 40 per cent of its sales direct to consumers from its 94 stores and online.

“This has been a fantastic year for Dr Martens,” commented Paul Mason, chairman adding that there was still significant scope for growth particularly in direct to consumer channels.
