Green move from Asda

Green move from Asda

With sustainability fast becoming the watchword for clothing retailers wanting to tick boxes with consumers, Asda is trialling a single store, four week ReLoved charity clothing pop-up shop. It will feature donated clothing from various brands which will be sold in aid of Asda’s nominated charities. The store already has clothing recycling points at around 500 of its stores built this will be the first time it has mounted a second-hand clothing event.

“As a country, we throw away far too many clothes,” said Melanie Wilson, director for sustainable sourcing for Asda’s George brand. “By trialling our Re-Loved pop-up shop, we hope to help create another route for unwanted clothes to find a new home and encourage people to think again about throwing away that top or those jeans they no longer love.”
