Joules continues to out-perform retail market

Joules has announced a strong half year. Revenues grew by 17.6 per cent to reach £113.1 million for the 26 weeks to November 25th. It achieved particularly strong growth in its online sales which now represent virtually 50 per cent of its retail sales. Wholesale revenues also increased by 8 per cent largely driven by growth in the UK, Germany and the USA.

CEO Colin Porter commented: “I am delighted to report on what has been another period of strong performance for Joules despite challenging trading conditions. This performance, which is ahead of our initial expectations for the period, is testament to the strength of the Joules brand, the engagement of our loyal customers with our product collections, and our fantastic teams.”

The retailer also confirmed that it has contingency plans in place to manage disruption in the event of a hard Brexit. This will include working with an EU based third party distribution facility as well as bringing delivery times forward for SS19 ranges and hedging US dollar requirements.
