Itochu Corporation has been granted the exclusive right of import and distribution and the master licence in the Japanese market for Laura Ashley. The Tokyo headquartered business will be developing sales of the brand via department stores and speciality stores throughout Japan as well as operating an official website for the market and operating directly managed shops.
Meanwhile, demand in the UK has been falling and it has been suggested that a number of Laura Ashley’s stores will be closing in the New Year.
