Sofa Workshop, which was founded in 1985 and acquired by MFI in
2002 has been sold to furniture retailer New Heights for
£1.8m. “Sofa Workshop now has an exciting platform for
growth,” said Toby Ash, co-founder of New Heights.
“It’s back to being a stand-alone specialist brand with an
entrepreneurial spirit and quality ethos.” The brands will
be run side by side, though Ash believes there is a great
opportunity in co-locating at larger stores. Sofa Workshop
achieved sales of £27 million in 2005.
