HMV recruited former Amazon head of DVD buying Sarah
Hughes as its head of online.

Childrenswear etailer AlexandAlexa.com appointed Jaeger and
Aquascutum chief executive Belinda Earl as a
nonexecutive director.

Nick Hutton will leave educational supplies
cataloguer Morleys of Bicester in February to form his own
consultancy business. Succeeding him as managing director is
James Barrow.

Hash Ladha has left ASOS.com, where he was
marketing and operations director. His replacement is yet to be
announced.

Chrissie Rucker, founder of home accessories
cataloguer/retailer The White Company, was named the NatWest
Everywoman Ambassador for inspiring future entrepreneurs.

Shop Direct hired Gareth Jones as brand
director for Very, replacing Alison Broadhurst. Jones joins from
Phones4U.

John Lewis appointed Jonathon Brown to the
newly created role of head of online selling to meet the needs of
John Lewis’s fastest-growing division. Brown was previously head
of multichannel at B&Q. John Lewis Direct’s managing director,
Robin Terrell, has decided to leave the
company.

Mark Needham of mobile computing products
etailer Widget UK was named Entrepreneur of the Year at the
British Chambers of Commerce Awards 2009, sponsored by
Staples.
