As part of its continuing expansion, White Stuff has made a
number of key appointments to its management team: Alison
Lancaster joins as home shopping director, she was
formerly marketing director at Harrods Direct, and prior to that
held a similar post at shirtmaker Charles Tyrwhitt;
Andrew Webb is appointed chief operating
officer, responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of
the business, specifically retail, home shopping, supply chain,
finance, IT, and property; Helen Marshall is
named retail director and Aviva Bard is promoted
from merchandise director to commercial director.
In other White Stuff news, the retailer has confirmed it has
arranged a new working capital facility with Lloyds bank to
help support it through the next stage of growth. This will
include opening 10 new stores next year and increasing its
product offer.
Secret-sales pioneer Vente-Privee.com appointed Herve
Parizot in the newly created role of chief operating
officer. Parizot will spearhead the company’s development
strategy and its international expansion plans.
Asda’s president and chief executive Andy
Bond is stepping down to take up the role of chairman of
the supermarket’s executive committee. He will continue with the
day-to-day running of the business until a replacement is
appointed.
Keith Chapman has stepped down as
chairman of cataloguer Findel. His departure is the conclusion
of a review to determine an appropriate structure for the
company’s board going forward. David Sugden,
who was appointed a nonexecutive director this past August, has
replaced Chapman with immediate effect.
Entertainment-products etailer Play.com has appointed its
first ever chief executive, former Apple director John
Perkins.
