News roundup—10th July 2008

Argos distribution workers have announced the dates of two 24-hour work
stoppages: 17th July and 24th July. These will be followed by a
four-day stoppage, beginning 30th July, that will be staggered
amongst the cataloguer’s four sites in Basildon, Bridgwater,
Heywood and Magna Park. The workers are protesting the
company’s offer of a 4 per cent pay rise in light of the
58 per cent hike given to the CEO of Argos parent company
Home Retail Group.

InventorSpot gives a shout-out to the
Condiment Gun from Firebox.com. Because, really, every
family needs to fire their ketchup and mustard onto their
burgers with something resembling a handgun.
