Stylo, the parent company of footwear
cataloguer/retailer Barratts, is said to be negotiating
to acquire competing footwear chain Dolcis out of
administration, Drapers reports.
A columnist for The Western Mail in Wales reviews the
spring/summer Evans catalogue of plus-size apparel. Her
verdict is mixed: “Don’t forget good underwear if you
don’t want to look like full fat blancmange under this
material” is amongst her comments.
Because January retail sales were stronger than expected, the
Bank of England may hold off on another cut in interest rates,
according to Financial Times. But an analyst told
The Telegraph that the solid January
sales figures were “heavily skewed” by discounting
during the first week of the month.
