Ocado to enter the US market


Ocado is set to enter the lucrative American market via a deal with Kroger in which the US grocery retailer will, as part of the deal, take a 5 per cent stake in the Ocado business. Kroger generated sales of US$122 billion in 2017 and the Ocado deal is an exclusive for the US market. The businesses have begun working together to identify an initial three sites, of a total of 20 planned, for the development of automated warehouse facilities in the US.

Ocado has also entered into agreements with Sweden’s ICA, Groupe Casino in France, and Sobeys in Canada.
