River Island has appointed international supply chain & freight forwarding company, Allport Cargo Services to support its strategic global expansion after an exhaustive tender process.
Under the three-year contract, ACS is to manage the international transportation by air & sea of the retailer’s entire product range – shipping goods from worldwide suppliers and manufacturers to River Island’s UK Distribution Centre in Milton Keynes. The partnership will also see River Island using ACS’ specialist supply chain software platform LIMA – (Logistics Information Management Application), enabling the fashion brand to streamline its buying, merchandising and logistics processes. LIMA will deploy its leading edge Purchase Order Management as well as buying, merchandising and business intelligence modules to create a scalable and future proof supply chain.
