The Entertainer has secured the 57 strong retail chain Poly which operates across Spain. The acquisition from the administrator will save over 350 jobs and provide The Entertainer with a platform in Spain for its Addo product range as well as other key brands. This is The Entertainer’s first European acquisition although it does have a number of international franchisees. It is understood that Poly had held a 5 per cent share of the Spanish toy retail market until its recent difficulties.
Gary Grant, founder and executive chairman of The Entertainer commented: “This year has understandably been incredibly turbulent for the Poly team as they faced so much uncertainty, and we look forward to welcoming them to The Entertainer family. The Poly brand will be retained but aligned with The Entertainer’s core values, which put our people and our customers at the very heart of our business.”
