Allport Cargo Services in new partnership with PC Portentric

Freight forwarding company, Allport Cargo Services has
entered
into a
three-year strategic partnership with PD Portcentric Logistics, part of the PD
Ports Group.
The move
sees Allport’s growing consolidation offering relocate from its current Tilbury
facility to the larger 500,000
sq. ft.provision located at the
Port of Felixstowe.This
will enable the company to streamline the handling process for its numerous
consolidation containers and improve the speed to which they are brought to
market.

Meanwhile, the
55,000 sq. ft. Tilbury facility has been repurposed as a bespoke retail and
ecommerce fulfillment centre. It will now focus on servicing Allport’s many
retail customers through the receiving and picking of stock and onward UK-wide
store delivery. The facility will also support the company’s growing ecommerce
B2C offering, strategically located for the growing same-day delivery market
across the South East.

Russell
Lawrence, Allport Cargo Services’ Sea Freight Operations Director, commented:
“Working closely with such a large and proven supplier like PD Portcentric
Logistics is a great opportunity for us to improve the efficiency of and expand
an important area of our business. The consolidation service will benefit
greatly by operating out of this strategically selected location meanwhile, the
move provides us with the chance to enhance our Tilbury site and provide
greater strength to our retail and ecommerce offering.”

Frans Calje, PD
Ports Group Managing Director – Unitised and Portcentric Logistics, commented:
“It is great to see yet another business take advantage of our portcentric
logistics solutions. We pride ourselves on providing a great service which will
see benefits for the customers supply chain. Having Allport choose to use PD
Portcentric Logistics in Felixstowe further highlights our experience and
competence in the sector.”
