Boohoo looks to create 1,000 new jobs as it targets growth

Boohoo plans to create up to 1,000 jobs at a new distribution centre in Daventry which it is leasing from Prologis. The DC was formerly owned by the Arcadia Group. Boohoo is planning to invest  £50 million to scale up the site which is located some 30 miles from Leicester where a new ‘model’ factory will manufacture between 20,000 –  25,000 items a week for the online retailer. Boohoo operates a number of brands including those for which it acquired the IP from Arcadia Group’s administrator.  It had recently come under intense scrutiny over its use of alleged sweatshops in Leicester for the production of some of its ranges but is now looking to leave the scandal well behind it.
