16/4
Debenhams has confirmed that it is pulling out of Ireland and is commencing to liquidate its business there which employs just under a thousand staff. The move will also impact a further 300 employed by concession holders. In addition, it is liquidating its Debenhams Hong Kong Ltd business which encompasses sourcing teams in both Hong Kong and Bangladesh. Employment contracts for a total of 117 have been terminated with immediate effect.

As has been widely reported, Debenhams appointed FRP Advisory last week to protect its UK business from actions threatened by unpaid suppliers.
