Edinburgh Woollen Mill (EWM), the group controlled by Philip Day has been linked to rumours about overseas buyers showing interest in some of its brands. The business has been highly acquisitive itself over the past few years, snapping up the likes of Jaeger, Austin Reed, Jacques Vert, Eastex, Windsmoor and Berwin & Berwin from administrators.
EWM has brushed off suggestions that it has been actively seeking to offload any of its brands saying that it has been approached many times but is not considering to sell any part of its business.
