Home bargains heads for £2.5 billion sales barrier

Value retailing continues to flourish as demonstrated by the latest results from TJ Morris’ Home Bargains chain. Sales rose by 15 per cent to close to £2.5 billion for the year to June 2019, equating to a doubling of sales since 2013. profits also rose from £164 million to £184 million as an increased numbers of consumers shopped from its 506 UK stores. The business opened 26 new stores during the year, taking advantage of a struggling retail lettings market and says it has its sights set on doubling its store numbers.
