John Lewis to close some stores permanently

John Lewis & Partners chairman Sharon White has informed staff that several of its department stores will be closing for good. There has yet to be confirmation which locations will be affected.
The retailer has reopened 22 stores so far since lockdown was eased and has a further 16 locations due to open by July 16th.
In a statement, the business said: “The reality is that we have too much store space for the way people want to shop now and we have shared this with our Partners.”
