M&S leverages Alibaba in China


Marks and Spencer’s online clothing and footwear sales in China have risen steadily since it began to use Alibaba’s Tmall site in 2012.  The retailer says that almost half of its dress sales in China are online and that it is one of the fastest growing womenswear brands on the site which accounts for over half of all clothing and footwear purchases made to China’s increasingly affluent middle classes. Marks and Spencer has 15 retail stores in China .
