Sales fall at JoJo

Sales fall at JoJo

JoJo Maman Bebe has reported a sales drop of 6.9 per cent for the year to June 30th, 2020. Online sales had grown by 29.9 per cent year on year but this was not enough to offset the dents caused by lockdowns. With total sales at £62.9 million, the business has closed some of its stores permanently and has suspended its US direct business to focus closer to home and on wholesale.

The company said: “While retail trading was severely damaged by the pandemic lockdowns, sales were encouraging when the predominantly local stores were permitted to re-open. Maintaining a bricks and mortar presence in parent-friendly communities and county town centres remains a critical element of the JoJo brand, and is boosted by the trend in consumers moving to localised shopping.”
