Shop Direct sale falters

Shop Direct sale falters

It is being suggested that buyers for Shop Direct are thin on the ground as a result of its continuing reliance on its consumer credit arm to bolster profits.  Much as is the case for N Brown Group and Next, the high interest changed to customers may not be sustainable in the long term due an expected tightening of lending regulations.

It is however believed that Apax Partners has shown an interest in the business which has been mooted to be seeking close to £3 billion.
