Virgin Media permanently shutters its stores

Virgin Media has confirmed that it’s 53 UK stores will not now be re-opening. The move comes as the business looks to deal with customers remotely. Around 341 staff jobs are affected but the business says it will seek to redeploy them in home-based telephone customer care roles. In addition it is creating 50 new roles in its field sales team.

“We are focused on delivering the service customers want, in the ways they want it and at a time and place that suits them, said Rob Orr, Virgin Media executive director of sales.
