myHermes Parcelshop which launched in June 2012 at 500 convenience
stores to provide a simple and affordable way of sending personal and business
parcels, as well as allowing retailers to offer cost-effective returns
services, has expanded to 3000 UK outlets. Consumers are able to specify where
they wish to collect their parcels from – close to home or place of work, for
example rather than to their homes which are often empty during the day. For Hermes
clients the service can be offered to their customers online at the point of
order via the addtition of myHermes Parcelshop finder tool. Customers are then
alerted by SMS or email when their parcel is ready for collection.
