Teething problems for new M&S site

Marks and Spencer which has spent the past three years and
millions of pounds developing its new website hit widely reported problems
within days of its launch.

The retailer had previously relied upon the Amazon platform
and chose to develop its new site in house with a team of 50. Problems were
resolved quickly but much as expected many previous Marks and Spencer online
customers have proved reluctant to accept change. The new site is, however, a
major improvement on its predecessor and as one “wag” quipped, “now all it
needs is a half-decent womenswear range”.
