N Brown reports strong online Christmas sales

Multi-brand, multi-channel retail business N Brown Group PLC has reported a 7.2 per cent like-for-like revenue growth for the six week trading period to 11th January 2014. It saw good growth from its Simply Be and Jacamo brands as well as an increase in sales from its home categories and gifts offerings. Online sales were said to now account for 58 per cent of revenue with Click and Collect across its own store portfolio and 3,500 parcel shops proving very popular with customers. The latter enables the group to take orders up to 7pm on 23rd December for pre-Christmas delivery. New customer recruitment had been stepped up and is expected to underpin business growth during the rest of the year, and beyond. Further, performance of its stores was reported as “very encouraging”, with expansion of its retail chain likely during the course of the year.
