UK store-based parcel delivery and returns service CollectPlus has announced its first full year of profit of £1.8 million for the 52 weeks ending 31st March 2014, from revenues of £34.1 million, on a volume of 13.6 million parcels. The results were driven by significant volume uplift across each of CollectPlus’ three services : Click & Collect, Send, and Returns.
Neil Ashworth, CEO of CollectPlus said: “We are extremely proud to achieve such strong growth as we approach our fifth birthday and at a time when the market is maturing and becoming increasingly competitive. Our growth has been driven by more and more people using our services”. Market share increased due to the addition of new products to its Send service including a standard 48 hour offering and acceptance of new larger parcel dimensions together with integration into marketplace sites like eBay and Amazon.
The business will be expanding its network over the next 12 months from 5,500 to 7,500 stores which will, it says, make it almost two third the size of the Post Office. Its longer term aspiration is to achieve 12,000 stores.
