At 5.30am on June 4th, John Lewis will open its first ever airport store at Heathrow’s Terminal 2: The Queen’s Terminal.
The 3,600 sq.ft. is located on the top floor of the departure lounge and is part of the first impression for passengers passing through security. The shop will carry an edited range of the best of John Lewis home, fashion, seasonal and gift ranges including own-brand products, designer collaborations and exclusives plus brands like Orla Kiely home, Charbonnel & Walker, Hackett and Barbour.
John Lewis currently delivers to 33 countries outside the UK and Ireland which equates to 75 per cent of Terminal 2 destinations. The retailer is also expanding its international wholesale business developing a specific offer focused on bed, bath and tableware in partnership with five Shinsegae department stores in South Korea, with plans to roll out to more of the group’s stores.
In a further development John Lewis has announced that it will open a “Click & Commute” shop in the Autumn at St. Pancras station. The new convenience format could be rolled out to other transport hubs if successful.
