Amazon has announced it lost $7 million (£4.56 million) in
the second quarter of the year, reports the BBC. The loss compares with a
profit of the same amount for the same period last year and comes despite a 22
per cent rise in sales to $15.7 billion for the April to June quarter. The piece
also notes that for the coming quarter, Amazon forecasts sales of between
$15.45 billion and $17.15 billion, an increase of between 12 per cent and 24
per cent, which was below analysts’ expectations.
