Confectionery retailer Thorntons has announced that in its
fourth quarter total sales increased 5.6 percent to £26.8 million. In the ten
weeks to 29th June 2013, Thornton’s commercial arm saw sales rise by 21.1
percent with international sales more than doubling to £900,000. Total sales in
its owned stores fell 3.8 percent to £13.9 million as a result of 34 closures
during the year. Thorntons Direct sales fell by £0.1 million to £0.8 million.
