Somerset-based footwear brand Clarks reported sales of £1.5
billion in the year to 31st January, an increase of 7 percent on last year.
South West Business reports that profit was up 5 percent to £121.6 million,
from £115.5 million last year. While trading in the UK and Ireland was
challenging, Clarks more than made up for it by aggressively expanding online
and overseas. More than 50 percent of revenue now comes from abroad, with Asia
a high-growth market.
