24.5 per cent decline in pretax profits at Halfords


In its preliminary results for the year to 29th March, auto
accessories retailer Halfords posted a 24.5 percent decline in pretax profit to
£71 million, compared with £94.1 million last year. With group sales only
inching up 1 percent to £871.3 million, chief executive Matt Davies announced
the launch of “Getting Into Gear 2016”, designed to “significantly improve”
Halfords’ retail customer experience and bring about sustainable and profitable
sales-growth momentum.
