Premier Farnell looks at ways to improve after decline in profits

Issuing its final results today, electronic components
distributor Premier Farnell revealed a 14.5 percent decline in adjusted pretax
profit, from £88.5 million to £75.7 million. Turnover was also down, by 2.8
percent, to £952 million as global economic and market conditions remained
uncertain. In order to grow, Premier Farnell has identified areas where it can
optimise efficiency, profitability and cash. These include focusing on data
insights to drive customer growth; strengthening the multichannel offer and
internationalising the business model with a focus on emerging markets such as
India, China and Eastern Europe.
