Dixons benefits from Comet collapse

Trading was brisk at Dixons, the owner of PC World and
Currys, which seems to have benefited from the collapse of rival Comet late in
2012. Performance in the UK and Ireland was strong with like-for-like sales up
8 percent for the 12 weeks ended 5th
January. However, a 25 percent sales decline at online-only Pixmania meant
total group sales were only up 2 percent overall.
