Further closures at Mothercare

Although international retail sales at Mothercare for the 13
weeks to 12th January were up 12 percent, the rise wasn’t enough to offset the
decline in its UK business, which saw the nursery and maternity products
retailer deliver a total group sales decline of 7.4 percent in the period. A
further 11 stores closed during the quarter, which means the UK business now
operates from 269 stores compared to 311 stores at the beginning of the year.
