Ocado is poised to launch a new website sizzle.com which will offer a wide range of upmarket cookware and dining products including selected items from brands like Waterford Crystal and Global knives. Orders from the new site, which will initially be launched in limited geographical areas, will be fulfilled via the Ocado delivery network. When placed to coincide with a grocery order delivery will be free with a choice of one hour timeslots. This follows the success of fetch.com – Ocado’s site for pet owners which carries some 7,000 products and also offers advice from a veterinary team.
It is understood that Ocado is exploring opportunities to develop further niche sites to complement its overall offer and that these may include quality indoor and outdoor toys, and gardening products.
