Online sales were up by a creditable 39 per cent to represent some 15 per cent of sales in Fat Face’s year end results. Like for like sales growth was 7.6 per cent. The fashion brand had added a further nine stores to its chain and relocated seven stores, bringing its total portfolio to 209, during a year which saw it withdraw from its highly pre-publicised IPO. Overall sales to the end of May 2014 came in at £200 million, with online accounting for £29.9 million, and resulting in an operating profit of £39.3 million. The business is now poised to open a retail park store in Edinburgh as well as continue with its low radar trial of the US market, and further, develop its wholesale business.
