PostNL back in profit after dropping Mondays

Following its bold move , which other postal services providers around the world watched with interest, PostNL has achieved a 41 million Euro saving in its first quarter by eliminating all Monday delivery services. As in other markets, mail volumes are steadily falling and “something has to give”. The Finnish postal service will be trialling a similar drop in its mail delivery service, from five days to four, although it pledges to continue to deliver  parcels and newspapers five days a week. Meanwhile the USPS’ aim to reduce its current six days a week service to five will be debated by the House of Representatives.
