Poundworld is withdrawing from its joint venture arrangement with Poundland founder Steve Smith. The two parties were to have developed and operated an online business poundshop.com with Poundworld providing its branding, stock and site content. Smith was to have assumed responsibility for marketing, operations, fulfilment and customer service. Poundworld is now intent on developing its own site.
