Endless which acquired Kiddicare from Morrisons 10 weeks ago has sold it on to Worldstores having reduced the Kiddicare store portfolio and made some 700 staff of the retailer’s staff redundant. Worldstores operates a number of online brands which primarily sell a range of home and garden products which are sourced from some 1600 suppliers. The plan is for Worldstores to continue to operate the Kiddicare website as a stand-alone whilst also introducing Kiddicare products to other Worldstores sites which reach a similar core demographic. Worldstores has racked up annual sales of £80 million and employs a team of 200 in Twickenham.
There has been no announcement as to what will now happen to the remaining Kiddicare store which is in Peterborough or to remaining members of the Kiddicare staff, including its management team, who are based there. The terms of the transaction have not been confirmed.
