Royal Mail and Trading Standards have launched a new initiative to tackle scam mail and disrupt fraudsters. Under the scheme Trading Standards will contact the identified company requesting that it stops mailing and at the same time alert Royal Mail so it can warn the company about its actions before cancelling its contract if it continues to post fraudulent items. The two organisations are also working together to raise awareness of scam mail and encouraging consumers to report any instances where they or family members are targeted by scam mailers.
