Allport Cargo Services in board restructure


Freight forwarding company, Allport Cargo Services has
appointed Charles McGurin as Joint Managing Director, serving alongside Danny
Clayton. McGurin will take up the post in December.His appointment coincides with the retirement
of current Joint Managing Director Jerry Gray who in January 2015, following
40-years of service, will take up a Non-Executive Director position with the
company.As part of the restructure, in
September 2015 Seafreight Divisional Managing Director, Kevin Witmore will also
retire from his day-to-day duties and will serve Allport as Group Consultant –
with a particular focus on the company’s emerging Contract Logistics business.

Witmore has spent 38 years at the company.

The appointment of Charles McGurin sees him return to the
company after thirteen years, having previously spent several years in
Allport’s Supply Chain Management team before leaving to work for APL
Logistics. He rejoins from DHL Global Forwarding where he spent 10 years in
numerous roles, most recently as Vice President, Business Development for
Europe, Middle East and Africa.
