Fat Face achieved a 13 per cent increase in its sales for the five weeks to January 3rd over sales achieved for the same period last year, with online sales up by 25 per cent. 42 per cent of its online orders were fulfilled via the Click & Collect option and 65 per cent were placed via mobile devices. Fat Face was one of few retailers not to join the Black Friday “gold-rush” and did not discount at all ahead of Boxing Day and, as a result, enjoyed the benefit of a record breaking sale on the public holiday with an online order being placed every second at its peak. Total sales for the retailer, which now operates 212 stores, were £99 million for the six months to November 29th 2014.
For the year to May 31st, 2014 sale grew by 12 per cent to £200 million at the business which Bridgepoint owns 70 per cent of.
