Overstock.com goes head of head with Amazon


The US based online retailer Overstock.com plans to launch a video on demand service with more than 30,000 titles in a bid to compete with Amazon Prime Instant Video. Overstock has between 25 and 40 million unique users a month and operates a loyalty membership scheme for which it charges US $20 a year. The scheme then provides members with a 5 per cent discount to use against all products along with 40 per cent discounts on selected special offer products and will shortly introduce the VOD service as an added value.
